San Diego FC’s mission is to unlock the region’s potential by cultivating partnerships, designing programs, building projects, and advocating for policies that further advance community initiatives. We build community by instigating collisions with like-minded and similarly oriented organizations to improve outcomes for the region. We believe that when individuals are actively engaged, communities are stronger.
By increasing access to safe places to play the game, we improve the physical and mental health of community members. Increased physical and mental health raises aspirations and opportunities for participants and collectively we can empower people to be leaders and forces for positive change in their communities.
We affect this change by weaving together programming in the three focus areas of education, health, and infrastructure to unleash the power of the San Diego community. By sharing our spaces, improving existing spaces and creating new spaces, we create opportunities for the community to maximize its potential and achieve desired outcomes.
Parks & Pitches aims to develop & transform public parks, play spaces and underutilized land into vibrant community hubs centered around the beautiful game. Through a hyperlocal, community-centric approach, we aim to co-create and build “community centers” where football pitches are enhanced with art installations, local vendors congregate, and opportunities for social connection are programmed.
Football Growth programs are rooted in holistically elevating players, coaches and organizations. Through play, we look to provide opportunities where needed through advocacy, program development, and facilitation. Through education, we look to create elevated experiences at the grassroots level. By doing so we increase the love of the sport, retention and build stronger bonds between the club and the community.
Our community service platform is a collaborative initiative, developed in direct response to local needs, where we partner with local jurisdictions, non-profits, school districts, club partners, and volunteers to promote sustainability and resilience throughout San Diego. Our focus areas include cleaning up public parks, flood prevention, waterway and beach cleanups, tree planting in underserved areas, addressing food insecurity and more.
